We were welcomed by such positivity and enthusiasm from all teachers, students and the wider community, as we shared ideas, made plans and learned together in this unique educational setting.
Nestled in the grassy hills between the Izmir mountains and Aegean Sea, the school is surrounded by beauty and nature and incorporates it throughout every part of the campus, from the plants and animals they keep to the design of the schools buildings.
Offering an authentic Montessori education at primary, elementary and adolescent level, it was wonderful to see the pathway of development for the whole child in one place, and work with the students in each plane.
From playing sports and games, telling stories and sharing cultural activities with the younger learners, to holding meetings, making plans and reflecting with the adolescent students, we had an amazing time working with these young people as they prepare to welcome friends from around the world.
The hard work and creativity of the teachers and students has created a wonderful event programme that is full of fun and engaging sporting, educational and cultural activities, that promote peace, friendship, health and sustainability, and promises to offer a memorable experience for all who attend.
During out meeting with host families and members of the wider community, we received valuable feedback and contributions and would like to say a huge thank you to them for making this event possible by sharing their homes and hearts with guests from around the world, and portraying Turkish culture and customs.
We thank you all for an amazing few days and look forward to returning in September for the event. We are sure it will be one to remember!
