Travel tips to Cozumel

The best way to come to Cozumel.

Route 1:

Cancun – Playa del Carmen – Cozumel
Cancun airport has a lot of international flight arrivals, its probably the best option to come from Europe because the cost and the closeness.

From the airport of Cancun to playa del Carmen there are 3 options.
Taxi, Mini Van and Bus.

The bus (ADO) is the best option, you can take it at the parking lot just outside of the luggage bands. There you can see or ask for an ADO box office.

1st step:
Airport of Cancun Terminal 2 or 3, to Playa del Carmen Tourist zone.
Price: $250 mexican pesos.
Time to arrive 2 hrs aprox.

2nd step:
Playa del Carmen to Cozumel
You have to take a boat to Cozumel, there are 2 different companies.
Ultramar (yellow one) and Winjet (orange one) they have departures every hour, example Ultramar at 10 am and then windjet at 11 am.

Ultramar ferry (best option)
Price: $250 mexican pesos for adult.
Travel: 45 minutes – 1 hr to arrive.

Winjet
Price: $220 mexican pesos
45 min – 1 hr to arrive.

Cancun to Cozumel
Total Price: $500 mexican pesos per pax.
ADO buss + Ferry.

Route 2:

Mexico City to Cozumel
An other great option is a flight from Europe to Mexico City, the most important city in our country. Take a direct flight to Cozumel, this would avoid having to take a bus and boat.

You can compare options between probably 3 differents airlines Volaris, Aeromexico, Viva Aerobus (not all have direct flights all year,maybe only at high season or vocational season).

Direct flight for Aeromexico
First option: Saturday October 28th, 2023
Ticket Price: $2,225 mexican pesos.
2 hrs and 30 minutes to arrive.

Second option: Sunday October 29th, 2023
Price: $1888 mexican pesos.
2 hrs and 30 minutes to arrive.

Also you cant take a flight from Mexico City to Cancun and then ADO bus and ferry.
