The Sustainable Development Games
The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals have been a part of our organization’s mission since its inception, with goals of good health, quality education, equality, peace and partnership, running through all of our events and activities.
We are now proud to officially announce our new initiative that is based more directly on the SDG’s, both in terms of understanding and making an impact, The Sustainable Development Games.
Typical of our events, we plan to bring young people, from all over the world, together, with the aim of raising awareness and getting hands-on experience of the chosen goal(s).
These goals will be chosen by the host and would change as we visit different countries, offering varied sports, activities and work experience, while allowing young people to immerse themselves in these challenges and explore and discuss potential solutions.
“Education should include the two forms of work, manual and intellectual, and thus make it understood by practical experience that these two kinds complete each other and are equally essential to a civilized existence.”
Dr. Maria Montessori
As always, this will not be a competition, but an opportunity to collaborate, to learn, to develop new skills and become a more responsible and active member of our global society.
The first ever SDGames will take place at Drøbak Montessori in Norway.
