They brought with them a lot of energy, enthusiasm and their vibrant culture, as they joined other young people and teachers from around the world and easily integrated in the blend of countries and cultures, intently sharing in the music, dance, sports and laughter.
With this being their first event, we are pleased to have received such amazing feedback about their experience, and would like to share this with you in their own words. Reflecting on this event, their team shared their deep appreciation for the experience. “From the moment we arrived, Bolivia welcomed us with open arms, beautiful landscapes, and the warmth of its people. It was a reminder that we were in a country with a great heart and culture.”
On connecting with other Montessori students from around the world, they noted, “Despite being from different countries, laughter, music and dance brought us together as global citizens.” One team member shared their surprise at how quickly they bonded: “I knew the place would be amazing, but I didn’t expect to feel so close to everyone in such a short time.” Another admitted, “Honestly, I thought I wouldn’t socialize much, but we all felt so connected.”
Many of their young participants commented on how this had better connected them to the global community and expressed a commitment to peace: “I’m glad to be part of a team that tirelessly works towards a culture of peace. We’ve built memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.” This journey, they concluded, has shown them the beauty of unity in diversity, “sowing hope for a better humanity.”
We would like to thank Casita Montessori de Mayagüez for their contribution to this amazing experience, and for sharing in the fun, friendship and love that was shared by all at this event. We look forward to welcoming them to future events, and hopefully visiting their beautiful country in the future.
