In April 2019, Jeroen Gremmen and Roelant Wijngaards visited China to meet students and staff of MMUN World Citizin SenLinHu school in Zhengzhou, China. This school has already commited themselves to the first GMG in Nijmegen (16-21 September) this year.
They were invited by the school – and by board member, Aiden Bloodworth – to meet the students that will travel to Nijmegen and to introduce some sports that will be played at the GMG. Jeroen and Roelant gave three workshops on sports they had never experienced before: softball, field hockey and korfball.
It was great to see how much fun not only the students, but also staff and even the photographer had while learning these unknown sports. It was also amazing to see how quickly the students understood and acquired the rules and techniques. A wonderful introduction to what the Global Montessori Games have to offer!
