After recently speaking to our friends at Colegio Pucalán Montessori, we are excited to share the progress they have made in the planning for the next adolescent Global Montessori Games, and look forward to the unique experiences our host will provide.
Located just outside the capital, Santiago de Chile, their school is perfectly nestled between the rich history and cultural heritage of the city and the stunning natural beauty that surrounds it. With the additional backdrop of the Andes Mountains, this is sure to offer an educational and cultural experience like no other, and the developing programme reflects this.
As well as experiencing the vibrant capital city, we will also visit La Ciudad Jardín (“The Garden City”) of Viña del Mar. While walking through the beautiful flower gardens or down the pristine beaches, there will be plenty of opportunities to relax, as well as to learn and have fun together.
We will also immerse ourselves in the Chilean Arts, as we explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valparaíso and explore the unique architecture, street art and beautiful landscapes from the ground and by cable car. Known as a creative hub for poets, writers, and artists, it will certainly engage the creativity of our young participants.
There will also be the chance to discover local nature, as we explore La Campana National Park. Ideal for outdoor educational activities, team building and, of course, hiking up Cerro la Campana (the Bell Mountain), we will be at one with nature, as well as each other, surrounded by breathtaking views of the local valleys and coastline.
Most importantly, participants will experience all of these things together, in an inclusive and collaborative learning environment, with opportunities to learn, share and express themselves through varied methods within workshops and presentations.
This promises to be an amazing learning and life experience for all involved, and as plans continue to progress and participation continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming more people from all over the world.
