Elementary GMG 2026 – Cyprus

The fourth installment of Global Montessori Games for upper-elementary students will be hosted by our friends at Morningside Montessori Elementary Private School, Cyprus. They will welcome pupils and teachers from all over the world, to participate in sporting, educational and cultural activities that promote peace, sustainability and international friendship through shared experiences.

Students, teachers, and school leaders alike will have the chance to deepen their understanding of different countries and cultures by working and learning collaboratively, exchanging ideas, and sharing their unique practices.

Although this event includes physical activity, it is by no means solely a sporting event, but an inclusive celebration of diverse cultures that aims to promote education and equality through the unity and active participation in sports, embracing the Olympic spirit of fun, friendship, solidarity, and fair play.

Therefore, the focus is not on competition or winning prizes, but on collaboration and the building of a more peaceful and sustainable future through the shared experience of young people and educators across the globe.

Due to physical demands, cultural sharing and the travel involved, this event is best suited to upper-elementary students, between 8 to 12 years old, and we invite teams of 6 students and 2 teachers to apply. Students have the opportunity to stay with local families, who will play a vital role in sharing Turkish culture and customs, as well as providing a safe place to stay.

We have already received considerable interest and extend our warm welcome to schools worldwide, hoping for a diverse representation of countries, continents, and cultures. To secure your spot, we encourage you to express your interest as early as possible.
