The Netherlands’ oldest city, located on its largest river, has experienced many of the impacts of climate change throughout the years, and has had to learn and adapt to protect itself and its citizens from further threats of flooding and forced evacuations.
These experiences, coupled with the necessary actions taken by stakeholders on a local and national level, make this a perfect place to explore possible problems and solutions to what is already a global issue.
For these reasons, our hosts at Montessori College Nijmegen and Groesbeek, have selected Goal 13: Climate Action as their SDG of focus, so that participants from all over the world will be able immerse themselves in such issues, get hands-on experience and share ideas on how to combat them.
This event is a unique opportunity for young people and educators to come together, to learn with and from one another, and to develop skills and understanding, while promoting peace education and sustainability.
We invite like-minded schools and institutions to join us from April 20th – 26th, 2025, for what promises to be another amazing experience for all involved.
Should you be interested, we welcome you to register a teams of 6 students (ages 12-17), with a recommendation of at least 2 coaches per team. These are not strict requirements, but a part of our aim to include a diverse range of participants from all around the world.
As always, this event will include host families, who will provide the opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the Dutch culture, by providing you with an authentic experience and perspective on local customs and culture.
