With support from Jeroen Gremmen and Roelant Wijngaards from Global Association of Montessori Education and Sport (GAMES), and thanks to the openness, trust, and cooperation of the principals of both schools, Frieda was able to find the right place and make the connections needed to turn this opportunity into reality.
She is currently attending Montessoriskolan Casa in Göteborg, where she learns Swedish, settled in quickly, and felt warmly welcomed by her tutor, peers, and host family. Frieda will continue her stay there until February.
“Everybody is so nice and friendly, Sweden is wonderful.”
Frieda
She shares how happy she is living with her host family in what she describes as a beautiful country, and how easily she has made friends at school. What stands out most in her words is a strong sense of freedom: less stress, more time to think, and the space to grow academically and personally.
Stories like Frieda’s remind us why international Montessori collaboration matters. When young people are trusted, supported, and surrounded by committed educators, they don’t just adapt, they flourish.
Sometimes, four months abroad can make all the difference. It’s a reminder that education knows no borders when hearts and minds are open.
PEACE,
Global Association of Montessori Education and Sport
