The tour started just outside Oslo at Bærum Montessoriskole. Students played a central role in the visit: they guided the educators through the school, shared insights into their daily learning, and prepared an impressive lunch, demonstrating ownership, independence, and hospitality in practice.
In Drøbak Montessori, located along the Oslofjord, students presented their micro-economy projects and sustainability work. Learning continued beyond the classroom as students took the group onto the fjord, steering small boats and explaining their marine life projects and environmental research.
The final school visit took place in Bergen at Davinci Montessoriskole, where the delegation was warmly welcomed, as always. Students led the visits and spoke openly about how their school functions, the responsibilities they carry, and the active role they play in shaping their learning community, within the unique setting of a school located in a football stadium.
Alongside the school visits, the programme included shared dinners, a fjord cruise, and a hike up Ulriken, creating space for informal exchange, reflection, and connection.
On the final day, time was dedicated to collecting observations, sharing ideas, and articulating shared dreams and concrete plans. The conclusion was clear: the exchange should continue, and future collaboration should move from inspiration to action.
With deep appreciation for the openness of the host schools, their students, and the participating educators from Montessori College Nijmegen & Groesbeek, this first Inspiration Tour is regarded as a strong and meaningful starting point. Further Inspiration Tours are already on the horizon, and interest in collaboration is warmly welcomed.
